Being obese can be a pain sometimes especially if the dress you want to wear to a party does not fit you. How many times have you sat in front of the clothes cupboard, wondering what to wear? How many times you have opted not to wear a certain dress as you may look fat in it? Well, no need to worry anymore! Here we will discuss a few dresses which you should wear as they help to conceal your obesity and make you look beautiful:
1. Dresses with monochromatic colors –
The best outfit for the plus-size woman is mostly one color, with a contrast color at the neck. The contrasting color at the neck allows the eye to follow a long, monochromatic line from feet to neck. This also means that maxi skirts and dresses have the potential to make you look slimmer than conventional skirts.
2. Wear pants, blouse and jacket all to match –
another dressing style in which fat or obese women can look slim and petite is by wearing pants, blouse and matching jacket or use well shaped jackets like waterfall jackets which hang in soft folds without one solid horizontal border.
3. V neck gowns –
the curvier woman can look amazing in a full-length gown, and even here the illusion of a slimmer frame can be emphasized by the use of the right neckline. A V neck creates the illusion of length and can be very flattering for obese women, whereas a square neck emphasizes width and is unlikely to look as good on them. A high neck too can allow a longer visual line making fat women look slimmer.
4. Vertical lines –
If you are on the bulkier side, remember when choosing a dress, that, solid colors and vertical lines will work with your shape. They make you appear taller and if you’ve got the legs for it, a slit at the side of the dress which shows a vertical line of skin can work wonders.
5. A summer pencil dress –
sometimes a figure hugging dress may actually look really good on the curvy body of the not so petite women. In fact it does look better on them than on the skinny women. Paired up with nice shoes, they look really good on the curvier women.
6. Wide legged pants –
wide legged pants in fact look quite good on the plus size females than on the ones with hour glass figure. Since these pants flow easily on their figure, it looks quite good on them rather than the body hugging jeans, although some may disagree on this point.
7. The cape dress or romper –
this dress has just the kind of look and depth to it that every time you move an inch, it will flow and sway in such a manner that people will obviously take notice.
So, curvier women can try them and see how lovely it would look on them. It is a bold step no doubt, but who cares? If it looks good then it has to be worn.
